When the purists talk about Tonkatsu always they say that is best simple, with only the Tonkatsu, cabbage and the sauce. Well, Katsuman is exactly that, they make the classic Tonkatsu, very basic but delicious. They choose carefully the pork they use an is extremely juicy but not feeling heavy. The surprising part is that even they mastered the dish, their signature and what make them famous is their Kastudon , which is a bow of rice with the deep-fried pork cutlet on top and then a soft-boiled egg on top of both of them. Is probably the best Kastudon you can eat in Tokyo. The restaurant has a counter and a few tables. NOTE: Is usual to have people waiting outside specially at 12:00pm (noon), so we recommend you to arrive much earlier or show up from 13:15pm. Once you order it ill take still another long 15 minutes for the dish to be delivered but if you are patient, is highly rewarding. At night time, is better to show up as soon they open or just make a reservation. Remember that Japan Gourmet Pass members can apply for free reservation to any of our dining partners.
