The Grand Chef of Asagaya Birdland, Mr. Chino, was trained for 8 years in a prestigious Yakitori in Ginza. He established his own restaurant in Asagaya in 2004 and currently has a Michelin star. Only the chicken named Okukuji Shamo is used. This variety has been historically used for cockfights and are famous for having a healthy, low-fat and rich flavor meat. There are three main set menu categories from ¥3,500, ¥5,000 and ¥6,500. You can also choose a la carte from ¥360 per skewer. We recommend gizzards (sunagimo) with rice vinegar, herbs and special sauce, wasabi-yaki firm but light and soft meat seasoned with wasabi, tsukune (meatballs with soft cartilage) and chef´s signature Okukuji Shamo Oyakodon (chicken and egg yolk, in soup). Recommended by Japan Gourmet Pass and just 2 minutes walk from Asagaya station.
