The restaurant is run as a little family shop. The chef come to bring your dish sometimes. Tompachitei has been consistently considered one of the best Tonkatsu not only in Tokyo but Japan. Their tender deep-fried pork cutlet is cook to perfection. For the last few years the shop had an increase of popularity due their inclusion in Michelin guide, but on the shop nothing changed and still is the same local atmosphere, it seems you eating at someones house. Their open only during lunchtime and there are queues outside waiting for one of their famous Tonkatsu set masterpieces. It worth well the time waiting. Be aware that sometimes they run out of stock before closing time and when this happens they just close the shop earlier. The location is a bit challenging because the shop is on the back of the main street but persevere and you will be rewarded with a top Tonkatsu experience!!
