Yakitori Hitomi or Sumiyaki Sosai Toriya Hitomi is considered one of the best yakitori in Kyoto. Well know for their hospitality, their cuisine is also great. Great variety of chicken skewers, made of local tajima variety. Every part of the chicken from the skin to the gizzards are used. Cooked on the barbeque with mastery, at optimum temperature and at just the right time to ensure its juiciness. Although it is one of those places where everything is excellent, the most requested skewers are Mo ... mo Shio (chicken leg with salt), and Tsukune (a kind of chicken hamburger), with spicy mustard. Because of the quality of their dishes along with reasonable prices, makes it very difficult to get a seat. Since they only speak Japanese we highly recommend to use the free Japan Gourmet Pass reservation service, with enough time (from 2 to 6 months). Just 7 minute walk from Sanjo station, Keihan Line.
