Tonkyo Tonkatsu is a hidden gem under Don Quijote in Takatanobaba, just in front of the station. The quality of the Tonkatsu is seriously good. Their most popular set is the "Tokusen Rosu Teishoku," which is made using Hayashi SPF port, and which comes from Chiba. The dish is famous for the taste. Since their opening, the shop has been popular with the locals living in Takatanobaba, but in the last few years, people from all around Tokyo have made their pilgrimage to delight themselves with the ... excellence of this shop. If you can spend a little more, you can also upgrade to their "Tokusen Hire, Katsu Teishoku" set, which is the finest meat and pork. The sets come together with their miso soup, rice, and, of course, very fresh cabbage. It is not easy to find the shop because it is on the basement floor of the Don Quijote shopping mall. But if you are patient, it is definitely worth the effort.
