Inshotei 韻松亭
Inshotei is an old kaiseki restaurant, located in a beautiful traditional Japanese house. Founded in 1875 Inshotei, means something like "Rima de la Posada del Pino" and it is located in the vicinity of a forest in the center of Ueno Park with excellent views of Shinobazu Lake and a relaxing forest. Their Kaiseki sets are abundant in seasonal veggies, although they don't have a vegetarian menu, they can make some adjustments if specified in advance. It includes delicious bites of yuba (tofu crea ... m), tasty mini aubergines, crunchy bamboo shoots, watercress (they used to grow in abundance in the 19th century around the lake). Very popular with both Japanese and tourists, its prices are very reasonable, especially at noon. Recommended to book well in advance.
