Shoutaien Arakawa main shop is the headquarters of a reputed small chain of Yakinikus. They are traditional orthodox yakinikus, where you can try the highest quality in these types of restaurants at neighborhood prices, hence their popularity. The exterior looks like a local neighborhood restaurant, but the interior is spacious, unpretentious, and clean. We recommend choosing one of the tasting menus, gokujou karubi (boneless beef chops) or tongue, although it is one of those places where everyt ... hing is excellent. It is very popular with locals so don't try to go without a reservation. It is a little out of the way, 15 minutes walk from Machiya station, but the effort is worth it.
